The Month of March In A Nut Shell

Damn it! It is April! I thought I was going to get this entry in earlier but I procrastinated and then got busy. It has been about 6-7 months since I moved to Chicago but it feels like I have been here for a year. I guess working which eats up at least a 1/3 of you day and 25% of your week, combined with sleep which takes up another 25% of your life, and then daily chores to survive... leaves you with only so much time left to cram in time to socialize and wind down.

This month I went to see the Brasil Botanical Garden at Macy's on the 9th floor. It was pretty neat. I feel like the people I meet here are different from you guys at home. They have a tendency to like going to bars and clubs more. Perhaps the only thing that hasn't changed about hanging out with people is the fact that they like to eat. So, I have been exploring my neighborhood and Chicago more to find more yummy places to eat. Unfortunately they are places that are going to give you heart disease and pave the way for obesity. Haha. Alright this is too much text. Time for pictures :)

This was dinner :) I still love to cook. It was baked fried chicken and mushrooms!

This was french toast with proscuitto and parmesan cheese and a cup of strawberries and vanilla ice cream for breakfast one time!

The Brasil gardens :)

New friends I think :)

Life certainly is different here. There is no other way for me to say it and sometimes I miss home and the things I used to do with my friends. I hope everyone is embarking on new adventures and meeting new people as well :)

I don't know if other people wonder what it is that makes them happy in their current situation or what does not, but I think about it a lot. To me everything is bittersweet or appears as a double edged sword. The change from San Francisco and Chicago certainly had trade offs I didn't know would affect me so much but I guess if you know what is missing then the only thing you can do is try to find a way to make it feel more whole.
